CWEET

Who we are

Amelia Taylor is CWEET's community organizer. She loves Tennessee and wants to see her home and community thrive. She says, "Clean water is essential to life. As water resources become more scarce across the world it is becoming increasingly important for us to recognize our connection to water and work to protect it. It is all of our responsibility to protect life."  She also manages the Newport Farmer's Market and grows many delicious vegetables in her spare time.

John M. Bowers is CWEET’s outdoor recreation supervisor and IT manager.  He is an aspiring professional kayaker and guide who is striving to continually improve and promote outdoor recreation and sustainable living practices.  He says, “if citizens and industry cannot use our natural resources responsibly, then they shouldn’t be allowed to use them at all.”

Emma Williams is 16 and sophomore at Cosby High School.  She says "I work with CWEET because I want to see the Pigeon River clean and acceptable enough to swim, eat the fish, and raft. We need to clean it up East Tennessee! The river needs to be pollution free so that our kids and their kids can have fun in the river too."

Michelle Cuellar was born and raised in Cocke County, TN.
She owns The Beantrees Cafe on the Pigeon River and hopes
to see the river live up to its full potential of a clean and pristine mountain stream.  She also makes a mean fried green tomato sandwich.
