Art and Gardening on Cosby Festival: April 14, 2018

CWEET is asking all local artists, crafters, and gardeners to submit an application to join us for our second annual Art and Gardening On Cosby Festival. Last year this event was successful, educational, and fun, and resulted in backyard edible gardens for the attendees!

Again this year CWEET received a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission- Art Builds Community program to host the Art and Gardening On Cosby Festival, complete with seed-starting workshop and craft fair to be held on April 14, 2018 at Front Porch Finds on Cosby. The event will feature arts, crafts and food vendors, workshops and seminars led by local artisans, craft demonstrations, gardening tips and tools, a kid’s activity corner, live music, and fun!

Attendance to the event is free, public, and open to all!

Stipends ranging $50-$200 will be provided for workshop demonstrators featuring a useful or marketable trade. Examples for desired workshop applicants include crafts such as jewelry-making, painting, welding, garden raised-bed construction, fermentation, screen-printing, broom-making.

Additionally, CWEET invites local crafters or food vendors to set up a booth to sell their products for a fee of $10. Preference will be given to vendors who use locally or sustainably sourced products. For example a locally or sustainably sourced products include locally grown greens for a salad or burger, grass-fed organic beef, plants started in a home nursery, wood crafts designed from locally harvested timber, or “upcycled” crafts made by transforming by-products, waste material, useless or unwanted products into new materials or products of better quality or for better environmental value.

Applications for artisan educators and workshops, crafters, and vendors is available below or by calling 865-453-8535, or by emailing the event organizer Amelia Taylor at amelialetgo@gmail.com Applications are due by March 10, 2018.

In the event of inclement weather, the festival has an alternative date of April 15, 2018.
